Ashdown Forest: riding for the disabled

Ali Remmen has been running The Ashdown Forest Riding School for the Disabled for the last ten years. It is a self funded registered charity providing a range of pony experiences for the disabled. Disabilities range from autism, celebral palsy and downs syndrome. Activities include pony riding, horse care, grooming, stable management and even competitions. These experiences help members gain confidence and independence as well as having a great time!
When asked why the school uses Nordic Bales Ali said: “The bales are always good quality, give excellent coverage, are easy to break up and good value. We can leave a ridge of shavings around the edge of the stables making it easy to rake down for new, clean coverage. The bales have a lovely smell, which is nice for the members and mucking out is easy and quick. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Nordic Bales for anyone with stables”.
