Cedral Weatherboarding: the right solution for a Sussex builder

M C Upton Carpentry & Builders have been using Cedral Weatherboarding on a variety of domestic and commercial buildings to create a maintenance free solution and to add value to the properties.

Michael Upton runs his business with a team of expert tradesmen. The company is a Marley Cedral Select Approved Installer. As well as installing Cedral the company also offers a comprehensive range of services including: internal and external refurbishments, conversions and extensions for properties throughout the South East.

The company installed Cedral Weatherboarding to the front of two shops in Pevensey High Street. A local property owner noticed the quality of the weatherboarding, together with the installation, so contacted Michael to quote for her seafront property in Pevensey. She wanted a maintenance free, weatherproof solution that would maintain its appearance over many years. Not only was Cedral weatherboard installed but Michael’s company also carried out a complete internal refurbishment. A new balcony was constructed together with a structural opening to take opening doors. After the job was completed the other three property owners in the row also commissioned Michael’s company to install Cedral Weatherboarding to their properties. The variety of colours creates a modern and attractive appearance that won’t deteriorate with age. Cedral is available in 21 colours and 2 woodstain finishes.

The same property owner who owned the first of the seafront homes then commissioned Michael’s company to carry out a complete internal and external refurbishment to a seafront corner plot. Cedral Weatherboard was again specified for the whole of the outside of the property, not only to improve the visual appearance of the property but also because it will add considerable value to the property that far outweighs the initial installation cost.

Cedral Weatherboarding can also be used just as effectively on inland properties. Michael’s company was commissioned to convert a very run down chalet bungalow that someone had started but abandoned. Michael and his team completely gutted the property. An upstairs shower room was added. An external downstairs storage area was converted into a bathroom and an extra bedroom was also added downstairs together with a new kitchen. The outside of the property was tile hung and the brickwork was painted. This was removed and replaced with Cedral Weatherboard, primarily to add value to the property.

Michael had been using a national building supplies company but was getting frustrated by their constantly changing prices that made quoting jobs very difficult. Chris from Stamco visited Michael on site and said he could supply a price list with fixed prices. Since that time Michael has used Stamco for all his building supplies needs.

Michael states, “We have now completely switched from our previous supplier. Everyone at the Stamco branch is always friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We use them for all building materials including timber, insulation, aggregates, plaster and general building supplies. If there is ever a problem it is dealt with promptly. If ever I need advice their knowledge is second to none. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them, they have helped make my company more efficient and quoting has been made easier.”
