From the forest to our customers
To ensure we provide the best quality PAR Softwood for our customers we source direct from Scandinavian Mills. We have built good relationships with the mills over many years and visit them at least twice a year to check on any new developments and ensure standards are being maintained. All timber purchased is from sustainable sources and certified to either FSC or PEFC.
Most of the mills we use are in the northern areas of Scandinavia because the timber growth is slow and the quality is excellent. We purchase a range of sizes and grades but most are 5th and unsorted. The timber is graded by the mills using state-of-the-art machinery.
Once the timber has been delivered to our production mill in Hastings, East Sussex, it is checked for quality before machining. A large investment has been made on machinery to ensure the best quality products are supplied to our customers. The timber is sheet wrapped and kept undercover for weather protection.
Stock rotation is important and any timber that is over 3 months is classed as aged and sold at a reduced cost.
Both Redwood and Whitewood PAR timber is stocked. Due to our onsite machining operation we also offer a bespoke machining service and can therefore provide alternative sizes of PAR timber to that of our stock range.
The timber products we supply are ideal for multiple applications such as joinery, furniture and playgrounds.
As we have our own fleet of vehicles, including a Hiab lorry, we can offer a flexible delivery service either to customers’ premises or direct to site.
